CTI joins #StopHateForProfit boycott of Facebook and Instagram ads
- POSTED ON JULY 03, 2020

July 3, 2020-As part of our continuing efforts to show our support for the Black community and stand against systemic racism and oppression, the Co-Active Training Institute (CTI) is joining the boycott against Facebook and Instagram advertising for the month of July.
“As an active user of the Facebook and Instagram platforms, CTI is readily joining
the stand to boycott all Facebook and Instagram advertising through at least July.
This is until the platform takes meaningful steps to remedy the circulation of hateful,
violent and racist messaging as well as the spread of misinformation.”
-Carlo Bos, co-president of CTI
CTI continues to be deeply committed to having our people and business understand the deep roots of systemic racism in order to take action and address the inequality and oppression we've let continue for so long. Last month we issued this statement affirming our solidarity with the Black community and our stand against systemic injustice.
As part of the #StopHateForProfit campaign, this boycott is intended to send a message that we will hold to account advertising platforms that continue to use their influence to give hate groups and other harmful organizations a voice in our society.
As an organization committed to fostering relationship, we stand ready to re-partner with organizations like Facebook as they do their work to dismantle these systems of oppression. Global problems at this scale need to be solved in partnership, and singling out or isolating people, groups and organizations to handle these challenges alone will only further perpetuate some of the root issues of oppression. We must be in this work and act together.
We sincerely hope our message reaches those with the power to make the necessary changes to oppose hate groups of all kinds. In the meantime, we are continually working to live up to our message of solidarity with the Black community and other marginalized groups. We are committed to doing the learning and work required to help heal the injustices of racism and oppression and will be coming forward with additional updates on our efforts over the next couple of weeks.
